Veteran trial attorneys will instruct, but our campers will learn-by-doing, utilizing a tournament-tested six-player case packet. The students will stand and speak, see themselves on video replay, and work collaboratively as a team. Campers will play both attorney and witness roles, and alternate between plaintiff and defense.
Any novices will be paired with experienced teammates for the camp tournament. A KSU Collegiate Camp Counselor will be assigned to each team, with real licensed lawyers judging, coaching and demonstrating.
The K-State Mock Trial Summer Camp will conclude with a multi-round camp tournament. All campers will compete in business attire in a final round in the Riley County, KS Courthouse, Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. (parents and teachers welcome).
An awards luncheon at noon on July 31 will conclude the camp, featuring keynote speaker and KSU Pre-Law Alum Chrysta Castaneda, J.D., trial lawyer and author of The Last Trial of T. Boone Pickens.
